Social Service / Soup Kitchen

St. Luke AME Church is one of two soup kitchens in East Chicago.  Pre pandemic operations were second and fourth Saturdays of the month with a pantry give-a-way the fourth Saturday of each month from 12:00pm – 2:00pm.  During the pandemic we have a food give-a-way the fourth Saturday of each month from 12:00pm – 2:00pm. Not only do we address the nutritional needs of those who come, but we also assist with referrals through our Social Service Ministry.  We have a license clinical social worker available during the soup kitchen and food give-a-way hours of operation.

Lincoln Elementary

St. Luke AME Church helps to provide educational, social, and emotional support for the children of Lincoln Elementary; Pre-K to six grade and the surrounding community through donations, participation, and planned activities.

Adult Network

Provides opportunities for adults to come together to experience and learn of God at their own pace, incorporate what is learned in their everyday lives and use the knowledge gained to help others.  It’s a time of relationship building through fellowship, spiritual formation, and community outreach.

Prayer

Like minded people coming together to pray for one another, for the concerns of the church, community, and specific needs of our nation and the world.

“I looked for anyone to repair the wall and stand in the gap for me on behalf of the land,…” Ezekiel 22:30

“The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.” James 5:16
